Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 16, 2026

The Summary (In Plain English)

  • We only collect information necessary to run your personal stock event calendar feeds (your email and stock watchlists).
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or portfolio choices to third-party advertisers or brokers.
  • We use trusted cloud infrastructure and privacy-conscious analytics (PostHog, Vercel, Supabase) to deliver the service.
  • You retain full rights to delete your account, rotate your calendar feeds, and export your data at any time.

1. Overview

TickerCal ("we", "us", or "our") provides a platform enabling users to track stock market corporate events—including earnings releases, dividend ex-dates, payout dates, and stock splits—and subscribe to them via calendar applications (Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, and compatible iCalendar clients).

This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you visit our website or use the TickerCal service, how we handle that data, and the rights you have concerning your personal information.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories:

A. Information You Provide to Us Directly

  • Account Credentials: When you register, we collect your email address and encrypted authentication credentials.
  • Watchlists & Preferences: The stock ticker symbols you add to your watchlist, your notification settings, and display preferences.
  • Communications: If you contact our support team, we collect your email address and any details included in your correspondence.

B. Automatically Collected Data & Analytics

  • Device & Connection Details: IP address, browser type, operating system version, referring URL, and approximate geographic location (country/city level).
  • Usage Telemetry: Pages viewed, features interacted with, error diagnostics, and timestamps collected via PostHog analytics and Vercel Analytics to ensure platform reliability.
  • Calendar Feed Access: When your external calendar software (e.g. Apple Calendar) requests your secret feed URL (`/api/calendar/[token]/feed.ics`), standard HTTP request logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamp) are processed to serve the requested `.ics` file.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely for the following legitimate purposes:

  • To authenticate you and secure your account access.
  • To generate and update your personalized stock calendar (.ics) feeds.
  • To execute automated background jobs that fetch corporate earnings and dividend dates for your watchlisted tickers.
  • To send critical transactional messages (email verification, password resets, security notifications).
  • To troubleshoot system bugs, monitor uptime, and defend against malicious attacks or scraping.

4. Third-Party Sub-Processors & Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. To provide TickerCal, we partner with reputable third-party cloud service providers ("Sub-processors") that adhere to rigorous data privacy standards:

Supabase Inc.

Provides our PostgreSQL database, authentication, and access control. User emails, watchlists, and encrypted credentials reside on Supabase infrastructure.

Vercel Inc.

Hosts our web application and edge functions, providing secure SSL/TLS hosting and server-level Web Analytics.

PostHog Inc. (EU Cloud)

Provides product analytics and telemetry hosted in the European Union to help us diagnose bugs and understand feature adoption.

Market Data Providers (Yahoo Finance)

Stock symbols are queried against market data APIs to aggregate corporate calendar dates. No personal user identifiers are shared with data providers.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

TickerCal uses standard browser cookies and local storage tokens strictly required for authentication and site functionality:

  • Essential Cookies: Secure, encrypted `sb-*` session cookies issued by Supabase Auth to maintain your authenticated login state.
  • Analytics Storage: PostHog and Vercel Analytics use minimal, privacy-focused storage keys to distinguish unique sessions without cross-site ad tracking.

6. Calendar Secret Tokens & Security

Your calendar subscription feed is protected by a cryptographically random, unique UUID token. Anyone with access to this URL can view the corporate events on your watchlist.

You can immediately revoke and replace your calendar token at any time by visiting your Settings page and clicking "Rotate Secret Token".

7. Data Retention & Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active. Under global privacy laws including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to:

  • Access & Export: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete data in your account profile.
  • Right to Erasure (Deletion): Request complete deletion of your account, watchlists, and all associated profile data.
  • Withdraw Consent: Opt out of non-essential communications or marketing updates at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@tickercal.com. We process valid requests within 30 days free of charge.
